Detox diets for weight loss are a good idea for everyone, not just people who are seriously overweight. The principle of detox diets is that they help the body get rid of unnecessary heavy metals and toxins, thus allowing the body to function cleaner and smoother. The natural byproduct is weight loss, but the principle is good for everyone.

Even in people of normal weight, the toxins that build up in the system over time can cause a variety of other problems, including premature aging of the skin, which nobody likes. A clean running system is similar to having a fast metabolism. Most children can eat just about anything they want without gaining weight simply because their metabolism is so fast. You don’t need to worry about dieting because your metabolism takes care of that. The detox diet is similar. If you detox a lot, your system should run much more efficiently and cleanly, and the end result should be weight loss and increased energy. But I’ve never been one to advocate complex diet systems. I think simple is better, things you can do without even thinking about it. Below are simple and logical steps that can be easily taken throughout the day and will prove highly effective.

Below is a list of detox ideas that are easy to do during a normal work day. I tried to think of how the average working-class person could go on a detox diet without having to change their lifestyle too much:

1. Hot detox tea. Most people like to drink something hot in the morning. Instead of always drinking coffee or tea in the morning, try drinking a hot detox tea. I drink them quite often and I really like the taste. They are full of supplements that are very good at detoxifying the body.

2. Drinking water with lemon. Once the morning is done and you’re done with your hot drinks, start drinking something cold. Don’t go for the can of soda. Instead, take a fresh lemon and squeeze some into a glass of cold water to drink. Lemon is a fantastic detox juice, especially when taken in plain water. Pure water on its own is a very good detoxifying fluid. If you don’t prefer lemon, you can use cranberry or acai berry instead.

3. Eat a raw detox vegetable with dinner. It is always good to eat at least one vegetable with dinner. This time, make sure your vegetable is a raw detox vegetable. Raw vegetables like broccoli, green beans, and bell peppers are not only very tasty, but also very healthy for a quick body cleanse. Cilantro is a top-notch detox vegetable. It is one of the only things that can remove heavy metals from the body. It’s a bit more difficult to use in a meal because you don’t really want to eat it on its own, but many people don’t like the taste of it in food either.

4. Sweatshirt. That’s right, sweat. Like I said earlier, toxins build up over time in the body, and one of the ways the body releases those toxins is through the skin. The problem, however, is that the average working-class person doesn’t sweat as often, and because of that, toxins start to build up in the skin and just sit there, causing long-term damage. A body feels much better when it sweats frequently. I prefer working outdoors, but finding a place to sweat is easy. Many local gyms have saunas and steam rooms, and if they don’t, it really isn’t that hard to get up and go for a run once a week or so. Either after or before dinner, think of a way that you can work up a good sweat at least three times a week. This will make your skin feel healthier and give it that glow back.
