Three easy steps to help you focus… that’s what this article is about. Without focus, we wander and will never achieve much. Here are some simple and sensible ideas to help you stop wobbling and focus on your goals!

I. First, plan your every move!

a) Without a plan, you will surely continue to flounder and waste a lot of time. And you can’t plan without a planner or planning system, so get one! But, do what works for YOU. You can use Franklin Planner, Google Calendar, a smartphone or iPad, etc…just use whatever suits your style.

b) One important thing I have to point out. Whichever planning method you choose, you must COMMIT to using it!

c) Try to use 3 separate to-do lists: weekly, daily and monthly.

1. At the end of the month, in your system, update your Monthly To-Do List on the last Friday of the month for what you want to accomplish during the following month.

2. At the end of each week (Friday), update your weekly to-do list based on what’s on your monthly calendar.

3. At the end of each day, review and figure out what you want to do tomorrow by looking at your Weekly To-Do List.

II. Know what you want – What are you trying to achieve?

a) It all boils down to generating leads and then converting those leads into customers or business partners.

b) What marketing strategy do you want to focus on?

1. Solve this and put all your effort into developing and working in this area.
2. Study one method at a time: SEO, video, blogs, etc.

third Avoid the big HIDDEN time wasters!

a) Identify those activities that cause you the greatest loss of time. Is that favorite TV show a must watch? How much time do you REALLY spend on email, Facebook, or Pinterest? (Be honest!) Do you have some news pages or RSS feeds that you never miss? Use your planner and keep track of where you spend your time for a week. You may be quite surprised!

b) Schedule what you can’t delete, for downtime AFTER cleaning your daily to-do list. If you prioritize your activities, there may simply be no time for some of those things and they will eliminate themselves.

c) Schedule a consistent time each day just to check messages – Set aside an hour and focus only on this task during that time period. Commit to doing this daily and stop after an hour.
