Everyone is aware of Dubai, especially in recent times. It has risen through the ranks of the world’s popular cities at an astonishing rate and now stands shoulder to shoulder with the world’s best cities and is no less renowned. A major tourist spot and a major commercial hub in the Middle East, Dubai’s importance on the world map cannot be discounted. It is arguably the most important financial city in the entire region, not just in the United Arab Emirates. Tourists from all over the world come to visit for the luxury shopping, great architecture and lively nightlife. Burj Khalifa dominates the skyline as the tallest building in the world. It also has many sublime man-made islands near its main shoreline. Here are some of the best things to see/do in Dubai.

Dubai Mall: Located near the Burj Khalifa, this mall is the world’s largest mall by area. It has over a thousand stores (not including the smorgasbord of food stalls). It is the perfect place for people who love shopping, and even if you do not fall into this category, this mall is definitely worth visiting just to walk through its magnificent aisles filled with millions of products that you can buy. It also has several entertainment facilities such as an ice rink, a movie theater and children’s play areas. However, the main attraction is the Dubai Aquarium, which is home to more than 33,000 marine creatures. The admission price is 14 USD and the experience is worth every penny.

Burj Khalifa: Located near the Dubai Mall is the tallest building in the world. Rising to 828 m (830 to the tip), it has 160 floors and is a must-see on any trip to Dubai. Apart from this great honor, it is also the tallest free-standing building in the world and has the highest open-air observation deck. This means breathtaking views that will leave you in awe. There are special telescopes that show Dubai over different periods of time, allowing you to get a measure of how much it has developed. The observation deck has an entrance fee.

Burj Al Arab: Widely considered the world’s first “seven-star” hotel, this magnificent feat of architecture overlooks the Arabian Gulf from its location between the Palm Islands and Jumeirah Beach. It is built in the shape of a ship’s sail. You don’t have to stay in this majestic hotel to enjoy and see its beauty. Non-guests can enjoy seafood at Al Muntaha Restaurant, which is located 600 feet above the ground.

Jumeriah Beach: After visiting the Burj Al Arab, head to the nearby Jumeriah Beach. This mile-long strip of cream-colored public sand is arguably the best beach in Dubai. Just be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen while picnicking or lounging on this spectacular beach with its incredible views.
