When it’s time for the flu, we’re under pressure to get vaccinated or not. If you are wondering if there are real alternatives, this article is for you.

Homeopathic vaccines are an attractive option and highly effective alternative to conventional vaccines. According to Dr. Isaac Golden (Head of the Australian School of Holistic Medicine), homeopathic vaccines historically have a success rate of over 90%.

Homeopathic vaccines are normally taken sublingually (under the tongue) or in water, and the dose contains a diluted but potentiated amount of the vaccine or remedy. This allows you to assimilate the remedy without shock or side effects. It activates your body’s natural defense mechanism which starts making antibodies which in turn will fight the actual flu virus.

Keep in mind that no vaccination system can provide a 100% protection guarantee: lifestyles and predisposition affect that.

If you’re ever in doubt about which choice to make, research everything you can find about regular vaccinations and natural alternatives, then go with your gut: Your mind has a powerful influence on your health. In the end, you should do what resonates. with you.

What to take to prevent the flu:

There are two over-the-counter homeopathic kits that are great to have in your home health kit: Homeocoksinum or Oscillococcinum. They are good for both adults and children. They coincide with general flu symptoms: pain, fever, headache, stiffness, chills, cough, runny nose, and congestion. These remedies have been shown to shorten the flu and lessen the intensity of symptoms if taken within the first 48 hours of symptoms.

1) Homeocoksinumgolden oscillococcinum. Dosage: the contents of 1/2 tube under the tongue, then repeat two or three times, 8 hours apart (so that 1.5-2 tubes are taken in total). Repeat the next day.

2) For children with nasal symptoms during the flu, use a natural nasal spray that contains seawater, such as HydraSense fog. A 2008 study in the Czech Republic showed a significant improvement in nasal flu symptoms in children using such a spray.

3) Take 1000 mg of vitamin C every waking hour for the first 2 days (or until you experience loose bowel movements), then go down to 3000mg daily until the end of April. After April, reduce the dose to 2000 mg daily and maintain this dose.

4) Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid anything with sugar, although fruit and hot water+honey+lemon is fine.

5) Ginger tea is excellent for boosting the immune system. Chop an inch or two of fresh ginger and heat over high heat in a saucepan filled with water. Once it boils, let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, then strain and drink as is or with a little honey. Caution: It’s spicy!

Homeopathy works very well if you have already come down with the flu. There are many effective remedies like Gelsemium for the classic flu when the weather changes. However, as most people have symptoms that are slightly different from general symptoms, for best results it is recommended to consult a classical homeopath who will prescribe a remedy based on the full picture of your symptoms. Additionally, continued homeopathic treatment will naturally boost your defenses, leading to less susceptibility and a healthier overall system over the years.

Where to find homeopathic flu vaccines:

Most homeopaths offer flu shots (along with childhood and travel illness shots). Find a classical homeopath in your area and consider treating your family annually. Homeokoksinum and Oscillococcsinum can be ordered online or picked up at most health stores.

Sinusitis (infection and inflammation of the paranasal sinuses):

It is very common for people with sinusitis to experience sinus congestion, inflammation, and infections along with cold and flu symptoms. They can also be triggered by allergies, and infections can be viral, bacterial, or, most commonly, as reported by the Mayo Clinic, fungal.

Some tips to keep your sinuses clear:

1) Follow the steps above to prevent the flu.

2) At the first sign of congestion, use a neti pot, Grossan sinus irrigator, Sinupulse irrigator, or saline solution such as hydraSense or Neilmed to irrigate your nasal passages. They are very effective when used immediately.

As sinus symptoms are usually chronic and recur repeatedly, a homeopath can work with you to treat any underlying conditions. If you can’t find a homeopath in your area, use my advice above and visit my website for more ideas.
