Whose!!! With that said and few people listening, I’ll go into more detail. My spouse and I thought we would go to Hilton Head for a short vacation offered by a timeshare company, which has been in business since 1981, maybe longer.

Sure, we’d give them 90 minutes to listen to your timeshare promo and then have a good time. Why not? You can usually save $100 on a hotel room than a couple of good dinners at good restaurants pay for.

However, common sense will often give way to your emotions when it sounds too good to be true. You just signed a lifetime contract.

Fortunately, its saving grace is that legally [usually] you have 3-5 days to review the details of the contract before it is a “done” deal. Time goes by very, very quickly, and the 3-5 days allowed are critical and non-negotiable.

Actually, it’s really a fun experience. Show up at 9 am for your appointment time to meet a sales director. Once you log in and then sit down to wait, it’s interesting to watch what happens.

In our short wait, we saw 6-8 people walk through the lobby with an interesting “sort of swagger” that told us that these were the sales managers who had great confidence in having a great sales day. There is nothing wrong with seeing the positive versus the negative and that applies to you too.

Regardless of all the exciting things the sales manager promises you, check everything against the contract, nothing else matters.

Beware! See what you have to take home, a beautiful boxed copy of your signed contract along with a beautiful illustrated book.

IF your emotions got in the way and you were overwhelmed with the excitement of vacations, exotic travel, cruises, hotel discounts, etc. then follow the instructions carefully to avoid future years of regret.

Now, you have a carefully written 20-60 page contract by the best legal minds with 98% of the agreement covering your interest and maybe 1-2% on your behalf or none at all.

Go home or go back to your condo and do some homework. Open Google.com and type BBB [Better Business Bureau] to see the rating of the timeshare company. We found 260 complaints and an F rating on our timeshare. NOT GOOD!

Next, search for a http://www.ripOffReport.com and see if you can find a report on the LEGAL NAME of your timeshare company. WE DID IT and it was horrible to say the least, we were gobsmacked.

Right away, we took our beautiful contract package to a local UPS store. [within 3 days] and returned it by certified mail, return receipt requested along with a notice of immediate cancellation.
