One of the advantages of a back ab machine is that you can perform a complete core workout very easily, with no additional equipment required. At first, back machines may seem a bit unusual to many newbies, and they may seem difficult to work with. But really, all you need is the proper technique and knowledge of how to use one of these machines and you’ll be strengthening your abs and back in no time.

Before abdominal and back training

A warm up is important before beginning your workout. It’s important that you don’t skip this step in a hurry to get to your workout. A proper warm-up will loosen up those muscles and help you avoid injury.

You can try some of the following for your warm-up exercise: jumping rope, walking on a treadmill, or even light jogging. Once the blood is flowing and the muscles are warm, you will want to stretch them. There is no reason to do intense stretching at this point. Keep the stretch light.

Tips for during training

The first thing to check before beginning your back machine ab workout is the amount of resistance or weights to use. If this is your first time using it, you may not need to worry about the added resistance and instead should worry more about learning proper form and getting stronger. You should start with a light weight, if this is your first time using it and you want to add resistance. You don’t want to hurt yourself the first time you go out, or at any time.

Now, decide which part of the body you are going to work first, your abs or your back. It is very common to see people doing endless ab work and little to no back exercises. After all, we all want that big six pack. But, your back is extremely important for daily movement and a healthy spine.

It is important to balance the work you do with your abs and back. If you do 20 reps for your abs, do twenty reps for your back during the same workout.

In fact, a good strategy to build muscle well is to do 3 sets of 20 repetitions of each exercise. Write down how many repetitions you do in each workout. And record the weight you use each session because you’ll see even greater improvement as your weight increases.

It’s one of the things that separates this type of machine from other ab equipment. The downside of the ab equipment you see on TV is that it doesn’t allow you to progress and you can’t add weight. You are limited to the resistance offered by your own body weight, and that will not change. Of course, this is one of those machines that you can use for years to come and still get a great workout.

When should you do your training?

It’s good to get in the habit of scheduling a regular exercise routine to get your body used to exercise and to achieve the best possible results. You can definitely do just fine using your ab and back machine three times a week. Skip the workout if your body tells you it’s had enough and you’re too sore. Rest and recovery are just as important to your muscle development as your training.

As you get more used to the machine, you can sneak into short workouts throughout the week just to focus even more on your core muscles.
