For those of us who don’t and find ourselves in need of tables, chairs and linens for a wedding, rest assured that there are places to go. Unfortunately, most brides cannot afford a wedding planner let alone a full team of wedding professionals. If she’s doing it on her own, the Internet and the yellow pages of the phone book will be her friends. By searching through the riffraff, wedding reception rentals can be rented at a very affordable price.
Wedding reception rentals can usually be found in the phone book. If they are not listed separately, any party supply store can help you. Once the business is located, it must be decided how many corresponding tables and chairs. You must give these businesses advance notice and reserve your wedding day and reception. If it’s during “high season” ie May, June and July expect to have to call a variety of businesses. These months book up quickly, so the sooner you know the firm date, the better it will be for reserving the necessary equipment.
Most wedding reception rental companies also offer table linens and chair covers. If they don’t have a color that matches your wedding scheme, consider going with an all-white linen and then decorating it with scraps of fabric in your chosen color. This adds a touch of drama and can also work great with chair covers. Take a satin ribbon, in the color of your choice, and use it as a bow in the back. It’s inexpensive and a great decorative touch.
If you’re leaving for your honeymoon immediately after the reception, be sure to ask a trusted friend or family member to take care of returning the tables and chairs. If the company offers delivery and pickup, there should still be someone there to take inventory and supervise the movers. Coming home and paying a huge equipment rental fee is not a good way to start a marriage.
