Christian Dior is made with superior craftsmanship and quality materials. For this reason, they are always in high demand and low supply. And counterfeiters love it. The CD is one of the most counterfeited products in the fashion industry. But fakers always lack detail. They always leave a clue for the buyer to detect before being scammed. Some of those clues come from the smallest hardware details.

zippers: In addition to the famous CD Girly bags, Dior uses Lampo zippers on its bags. Always check the zippers on the bag for the Lampo logo. Sometimes you may have to dig in and pull the zipper upside down and check the bottom of the zipper. Beware: Some counterfeits also use Lampo zippers, but if they are fake Lampo zippers, they will generally not have the same quality and detail as a genuine Lampo zipper. Which means the logo can be cheaply embossed on the zipper, off center, or in the wrong font or logo style.

zip up sweater: The zipper puller is attached to the zipper. This is the mechanism that is used to open the zipper, and this feature usually has the bag designer’s logo emblazoned on it somewhere. In the case of Dior, on the regular and double saddlebags, they use a metal “CD” zipper puller. The “C” and “D” should be connected, but with no spaces between the letters. Many counterfeits have a zipper pull that has the correct CD on it, but between the letters there is a nick or small gap in the metal. This is bad. A true zipper pull will have a smooth, flat top and bottom with no indentations or gaps.

This isn’t a complete guide to all things Dior, but these tips will help you weed out many of the fake bags on the open market. Good luck and safe shopping!
