Have you ever had the experience of someone touching you in a particular place and an unrelated memory coming to mind? The image can be one that you like or dislike.

The image or feeling that is presented is often called cellular memory.

This concept is based on the theory that the vibration or impressions of what happens to you can be encoded in your cellular structure.

Every thought and event produces a vibration that can leave its mark inside our cells. This energy trace, this recording, is there even when we don’t consciously remember the event. There is even research in the biomedical field that is demonstrating the chemical change in cells due to memory.

I want to share with you a personal experience of freeing cellular memory.

A naturopathic doctor and medical intuitive, Dr. Sylvia Flesner, recommended what appeared to be a fairly harmless process. I really didn’t think anything would come of it.

The recommendation was to bathe once a week in my “normal” water level. Add to that 1/3 cup of sea salt, 1/3 cup of hydrogen peroxide, and 8 cups of chamomile tea (made by boiling 2 tea bags for 15 minutes in water).

All I had to do was use a washcloth, no soap, and massage my body in circular motions. As I moved the washcloth over my body, I had to verbally tell my body how much I loved it.

He asked me to do this once a week for about 20-30 minutes each time. Sounds simple, right? I suggest you give it a try and see if it’s easy for you.

The first time I did this, I was overcome with sadness. I had not loved my physical body and have struggled with the appearance of my body for the last 50 years. I thought I had come to accept it. I found out not.

All the sadness and pent up feelings about not having a body that was up to “standards” poured out of me. I managed to stay in the bathroom for about 5 minutes. I released a lot of emotions and tears that day.

Now it’s been 10 days, not 7. I took a bath again.

This time, many images, sounds, and feelings of being spanked as a child surfaced. The pain, shame, and confusion from those incidents poured out of me. I used a type of healing prayer continuously during this time.

This happened in about the 7 minutes that I was able to stay in the bathroom. I have not yet reached 20-30 minutes.

After this experience, cellular memory is a reality for me. We do have a recording “trapped” in our bodies.

For our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health we need to release those memories. This bathroom is one way to do it.

Your experience will be different than mine. If you are interested in trying a simple yet powerful way to release the past held in your body, I highly recommend this bath.
